Blandford is a town in the British colony of Virginia, located just east of Petersburg. It is a base of the Continental Army in Virginia.

After the British take Richmond, General Cornwallis rendezvouses with Brigadier General Arnold and Lieutenant Colonel Simcoe. At a strategy meeting, Cornwallis informs them that he has requested more men, but the best chance they have maintaining control over Virginia is seizing the Rebels’ supply depots. Simcoe points out that Petersburg is the depot for both state and Continental forces, and Cornwallis adds that the Patriots have set up a defensive bulwark in the town just east, which Arnold specifies is Blandford.
The British attack Blandford, and Arnold leads the American Legion from a large stone building that they use to attack the Rebels. When the Patriots retreat, the American Legion is ordered to pursue them. Abe Woodhull takes the opportunity to flee in the hopes of making it to Patriot lines. As he attempts to escape, he is spotted by Simcoe, who comes after him. Simcoe corners him in the stone building the Legion was sheltering inside earlier, but before he can kill Woodhull, Caleb Brewster shoots Simcoe from outside the building, and Woodhull is able to throw him onto a pile of rubble and escape.[1]
