Philomena Cheer is a theater actress, as well as a former lover and a spy for John André. In retaliation for her dalliances with Andre, Peggy Shippen falsely accuses her of treason against the crown. She is eventually released and later marries Jonathan Cooke, relocating with him to Surrey.
